Becoming a photographer was, I guess, inevitable!

I grew up with a ‘darkroom’ in the house – yes, those good old days which involved lotions and potions, pegs and negatives. Dad owned an engineering firm and ran a wedding photography business as a sideline.

I bought my first DSLR back in 2008 and became immediately hooked – developing an obsession with buying ‘glass’ and painting with light!

I love the freedom and creativity that photography offers and have an absolute passion for capturing the essence of a scene … be it people’s character, emotion, detail, nuances and let’s not forget painting and dancing with that glorious light!

Wedding photography would soon follow and in 2010 I featured in Digital Camera Magazine – a special feature on wedding photography, shooting with Brett Harkness. I’ve also attended a few of Jonny Draper’s photography masterclasses – a pure photography genius and a rather fun guy too! Some of my photos have made it onto Brides up North; a rather fantastic and inspirational web site that has everything you need to know about organising your wedding!

Travel is also close to my heart, as is red wine and cheese! That’s a little bit about me. I hope to have the opportunity of getting to know you too! Please do get in touch…
