When Sharon approached me to say she was getting married in Riva del Garda, Italy, 29 May, 2015, I wanted to squeal! Having just got engaged a year earlier – a surprise Valentines engagement in Paris – we expected they would slip quietly ‘into the sunset’, returning as Mr and Mrs. My partner and I felt so honoured to be invited as their guests and official photographers – this was going to be one of the most special weddings ever!
The day commenced at Du Lac et Du Parc Grand Resort where Sharon, her Mum, Maid of Honour and Bridesmaid got primped and preened for the big day. Sharon wore a LouLou 1950’s inspired wedding dress, coupled with Richard Designs Birdcage Veil and Rainbow Club custom dyed Fuchsia lace shoes – an exact match to the Bridesmaid dress, may I add! The cutest little vintage Renault 5 picked up our Bride and delivered her to the Town Hall, in time for the official ceremony.
There were lots of tears and laughter, and I for sure had to fight back some tears too! After the ceremony we all piled into the Piazza to soak up some Italian sun, before heading off to Malcesine by ferry. We arrived at ‘Number 8’ to receive a true Italian welcome with Prosecco and Pizza awaiting the guests! We were lost in our own little world and clearly having so much fun that we didn’t realise how time had whizzed by. We were soon making the return trip to Riva del Garda, to Spiaggia deli Olivi, for the Wedding Breakfast, where the evening continued with bubbles, giggles and sparklers!
